iPad browser which plays Flash video

As much as I love my iPad, the lack of Flash video support is a pain when browsing websites. I don’t care what Steve Jobs feels about the technical shortcomings of Flash, it’s a widely used technology which should be supported on Apple products – not being able to play Flash can seriously detract from the user experience.

So when I came across SkyFire my day brightened up 🙂

This browser identifies Flash video content on the webpage, and by doing some fancy conversion back at their end can play Flash video on your iDevice after a few seconds of processing. To make it happen you simply tap on the little video icon at the bottom left of the browser window.

SkyFire works so well that it has replaced Safari as my main browser on the iPad – check it out!

Note – it handles Flash video but not flash apps or games.

You can get it on the App Store at SkyFire

The developer website is www.SkyFire.com
